Match Report
Bayern Munich closed out their preseason with a statement comeback, beating Heidenheim 4-2 at the Voith-Arena despite falling behind twice. The visitors needed to dig deep after a shaky start, but their squad depth eventually took over in the second half.
Yannik Wagner pounced on a defensive slip to put Heidenheim ahead inside five minutes, and Felipe Chávez levelled with a curling free-kick in the 25th. Julian Niehues restored the hosts' lead just before the break, but Arijon Ibrahimović converted a penalty early in the second half after Niehues fouled Binder in the box. Luis Díaz and Nathaniel Brown then struck late to seal it. The biggest scare came when Jamal Musiala collapsed off the ball and had to be withdrawn as a precaution.
For Bayern, it's a fifth straight preseason win under Vincent Kompany heading into the Supercup against Dortmund, though Musiala's health will be the main talking point. Heidenheim showed plenty of fight against top-flight opposition before fatigue told late on.
