Having edged the first encounter 1-0 at the 5 July Stadium in Algiers on Friday, Algeria's youngsters were unable to find a breakthrough this time around. Neither side could carve out a telling chance as defences came out on top in a tight, cagey affair. The goalless result brought the two-match friendly series to a close with honours shared across the pair of fixtures. Both squads were using the double-header as preparation for the upcoming U-23 Africa Cup of Nations. Algeria U23 will take the greater confidence from the mini-series having claimed one win and a draw, while D.R. Congo U23 will look to sharpen up in front of goal ahead of the continental tournament.
