Match Report
Cambodia claimed a comfortable 2-0 win over Hong Kong in a home friendly at the Phnom Penh National Olympic Stadium, putting in a controlled performance that left the visitors without a foothold from start to finish.
Kakada came close in the first half, rattling the post on a quick counter-attack, before Yudai Ogawa broke the deadlock deep in stoppage time — collecting a pass from Rotana and driving the ball into the right corner (45+2'). The half ended on a sour note for Hong Kong as Jay Haddow was dismissed after picking up a second yellow card in added time, leaving the visitors to defend with ten men. Cambodia capitalised immediately after the restart when Sieng Chanthea buried a low cross from Coulibaly into the bottom right corner (50'), killing the contest.
The result was a timely confidence boost for Cambodia, who looked organised, clinical, and dangerous on the break throughout. Hong Kong, reduced to ten men for the entire second half, barely threatened and will have plenty to address before their next fixture.
