Colo Colo made light work of Unión Española, cruising to a 3-0 win in Copa Chile Group E play. Maxi Romero was the story of the night, scoring twice to settle the contest early and continue his hot streak in front of goal. Romero headed in a Leandro Hernández cross in the 25th minute, and Hernández turned scorer himself with a penalty just after the break. Romero added his second before the hour mark to complete the rout. Things got worse for the visitors when substitute Felipe Raipán was sent off with a straight red just minutes after coming on, leaving Unión Española to finish the match with ten men. The win keeps Colo Colo perfect in the group stage, top of Group E and closing in on the knockout rounds. Unión Española, meanwhile, will need results elsewhere to keep their advancement hopes alive.
