Erzurumspor FK vs Samsunspor

Erzurumspor edged past Samsunspor 1-0 at Kazım Karabekir Stadium in a tight Super Lig round-six clash, with the only moment of real quality arriving right on the stroke of halftime. It was enough to settle a cagey, tense contest between two sides camped near the bottom of the table. The home crowd roared as their side held on for a much-needed three points heading into the international break. Miguel Cardoso struck in the 45th minute to hand Erzurumspor the lead, and it proved to be the game's only goal. The match stayed largely under control from a discipline standpoint, though referees did brandish yellow cards to Cardoso, Elisha Owusu and Brandon Baiye for the hosts, while Samed Onur and Emre Kılınç were booked for the visitors. No red cards or penalties were shown across the ninety minutes. The win lifts Erzurumspor to 7 points under coach Serkan Özbalta, a welcome response after their previous 3-0 defeat to Beşiktaş. For Samsunspor, it's a fourth straight loss, leaving Thorsten Fink's side stuck on 4 points and searching for answers after a strong finish last season.
