FC Alverca vs CD Santa Clara

Santa Clara dominated for long stretches at Complexo Desportivo FC Alverca but had to settle for a share of the spoils, as Brenner's late strike snatched a 1-1 draw against the run of play. Alverca had led since the hour mark and looked set for a first win of the season before the visitors leveled deep into the second half. Alverca broke the deadlock in the 69th minute through Vivaldo Semedo, teed up by Isaac James, against a Santa Clara side already piling on pressure. The Azorean visitors were rewarded in the 87th minute when Brenner, set up by Welinton, drilled home the equalizer. Late yellow cards for Emanuel Moreira, Lucas Figueiredo and Brenner added spice to the finish. Despite being outshot 15-5, Santa Clara stretch their unbeaten start and stay well placed near the top of the table. For Alverca, still winless, the point offers relief, though the late concession will sting after doing the hard part for long.
