FC Porto vs FC Arouca
Match Report
FC Porto made light work of a previously unbeaten Arouca, cruising to a 2-0 win at the Dragão that kept their perfect start to the season intact. The hosts were dominant from the opening whistle, piling up eleven shots to just one before the break and rarely letting their visitors settle into the game.
Gabri Veiga broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute, finishing off a swift move started by William Gomes, before Borja Sainz wrapped things up in the 87th with what was arguably the best move of the match. Porto could have had more: Alberto Costa saw a goal ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper, Kiwior had one chalked off for André Silva's offside position, and Pepê crashed a header off the crossbar. Arouca's lone real threat came just before halftime through an Iván Barbero header.
The win sends FC Porto top of the table with nine points from three games, their third straight 2-0 scoreline, with returning starters Alberto Costa and André Silva helping the side look sharper. For Arouca, it's their first defeat of the campaign after arriving in Porto having scored more league goals than the champions themselves.
