Ireland U18 vs Norway U18

Ireland U18 and Norway U18 played out a dramatic 1-1 draw in Tuesday's friendly, with the hosts snatching a point deep into stoppage time after trailing for the best part of forty minutes. The first half finished goalless, both sides cautious and well organised. Norway broke the deadlock just after the restart when Cedergren finished smartly in the 53rd minute, putting the visitors firmly in control. Ireland kept pushing and got their reward right at the death, Martin converting in the 90th minute to level things up and send the home supporters into celebration. For Ireland U18, the late goal halts a run of indifferent results and offers a real confidence lift heading into their next outings. Norway U18 will be disappointed to have let a lead slip so close to full time, though their defensive discipline and set-piece organisation on the day still gave them plenty to build on.
