Llaneros vs Atlético Nacional

Llaneros pulled off a historic result, beating Atlético Nacional 2-0 in Villavicencio for the first win ever recorded against the Medellín club. The standout moment came early, as Llaneros made the most of two clinical counterattacks while soaking up heavy pressure for most of the night. Yorleys Mena opened the scoring in the 15th minute off an assist from Jhon Vásquez, and Frank Castañeda doubled the lead in the 34th with a stunning strike from well outside the box. Nacional dominated possession and peppered the goal with shots, but keeper Roameth Romaña was outstanding, making several key saves. In the second half, James Rodríguez came on and had a shot stopped by Romaña while also seeing a penalty appeal waved off, and a potential red card for Yeicar Perlaza was downgraded to yellow after VAR review late on. The result snaps Nacional's five-game winning run and drops them to third place, complicating their pursuit of leaders América de Cali. For Llaneros, the win lifts them to 14 points and into the playoff conversation as they push for a spot in the final zone.
