Morocco U23 vs Ivory Coast U23

Morocco U23 were forced to come from behind twice before salvaging a 2-2 draw against Ivory Coast U23 in the second of two friendlies at the Mohammed VI Football Complex on Monday. Adam Aznou, formerly of Barcelona and Bayern Munich, opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a composed finish after lobbing the goalkeeper, but the Ivorians hit back with two quick goals to turn the game on its head. Morocco had earlier squandered a golden chance when Jones El-Abdellaoui missed a penalty. With time running out, Mouad Dahak stepped up in the 85th minute to curl a stunning direct free kick into the top corner, earning Morocco a deserved share of the spoils. Ajax youngster Abdellah Ouazane, the U17 AFCON MVP, also made his U23 debut. The result means the two-match friendly series ends with two draws — following Thursday's goalless first leg — leaving both sides with plenty to work on ahead of upcoming continental competition.
