Ireland U21 were held to a goalless draw by Qatar U23 at the Vrbovec town stadium in Croatia, closing out their June camp empty-handed. The best moment of the night fell to Cathal O'Sullivan, who cut in from the right and struck the post — the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock. Jamie Mullins had gone close early with an effort just over, and Qatar threatened too. Jad Hakiki hit the woodwork and had a first-half effort cleared off the line, before Andrew Wogan preserved the draw with a fine stop to deny Moath Mohammadtaha on 89 minutes. There were positives for Jim Crawford, with first starts handed to Cian Dillon, Jacob Devaney, Cathal O'Sullivan, and goalkeeper Wogan, while Cory O'Sullivan came off the bench to earn his debut.
