Sabah Baku pulled off a stunning comeback in the Champions League qualifying playoffs, beating H. Beer Sheva 5-2 after extra time in their second leg. Level on aggregate deep into stoppage time, Sabah exploded for two extra-time goals to complete the turnaround.
Igor Zlatanovic opened the scoring for Beer Sheva in the 10th minute, but Chucky Nwachukwu equalized in the 38th. Gabriel Mizrahi restored the lead in the 61st before Umar Rakhmonaliyev leveled again in the 74th. Tagir Mutallimov's 90+4 strike forced extra time, where Omoladhaj Mbina (101') and Joy Lance Mickels (115') sealed it. Beer Sheva finished with nine men, D. T. Diop dismissed in the 100th minute and Eliel Peretz in the 117th.
The result sends Sabah through to the next qualifying round after a remarkable late surge, while Beer Sheva's European run ends in heartbreak despite twice leading in Baku.
