San Diego FC vs LA Galaxy

San Diego FC handled Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1 at Snapdragon Stadium, in a night headlined by Hirving "Chucky" Lozano's return to the club that shipped him out after a falling out with the coaching staff. He got his goal, but it barely dented the scoreline. Elias Achouri, Kieran Sargeant, and Amahl Pellegrino scored for the hosts to put the game away. Jeppe Tverskov was then sent off for a second yellow card, and five minutes later Lozano scored his first goal for his new club, against his former team. Former Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto made his MLS debut off the bench. The win keeps San Diego FC's playoff push alive after sitting near the postseason line. For Los Angeles Galaxy, it's another setback that leaves them 13th in the West, just three points off the final playoff spot, with pressure mounting on the coaching staff after a costly summer and a down year following their 2024 MLS Cup triumph.
