Tunisia U20 vs Mauritania U20

Tunisia U20 kicked off the Nabil Trabelsi era with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Mauritania U20 in a lively international friendly at the Chedly Zouiten Stadium in Tunis on Friday. The five-goal affair provided plenty of entertainment as the young Eagles of Carthage traded blows with a spirited Mauritanian side. Tunisia ultimately found the net three times to edge the contest, though Mauritania U20 made them work for every goal with two strikes of their own. It was a promising start for Trabelsi, who was appointed head coach in February after serving as assistant to Gernot Rohr. The former coach will have been pleased with the attacking output but will know there is defensive work to do before the second friendly between the sides on Monday. The return leg at the same venue on March 30 gives both teams another chance to fine-tune their squads as they prepare for upcoming African youth competitions.
