Pedro Rocha came back to haunt his former club as Coritiba edged Remo 1-0 at Couto Pereira on Saturday night. The ex-Remo forward applied the "lei do ex" with a clever finish in the 24th minute to seal all three points in front of over 28,000 fans.
The goal stemmed from a defensive blunder by Sávio, who gifted possession in a dangerous area. JP Chermont pounced on the loose ball and delivered a pinpoint cross for Pedro Rocha, who guided it home with his thigh to hand Coritiba their first home win of the campaign.
Remo arguably deserved more from the game, dominating possession at 55% and outshooting their hosts 9-5, but lacked the cutting edge to find an equalizer.
