Cruz Azul cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory over Atl. San Luis at Estadio Cuauhtémoc on Matchday 10 of the Clausura 2026. La Máquina was already in front when the visitors' afternoon went from bad to worse with a first-half red card.
Agustín Palavecino opened the scoring in the 16th minute, finishing off a neat assist from Nicolás Ibáñez. Atl. San Luis were then reduced to ten men when Eduardo Águila was shown a straight red for a reckless challenge on Ibáñez in first-half stoppage time.
The floodgates opened after the break. Gabriel Fernández doubled the lead in the 67th minute with a composed left-footed finish inside the box, before Andrés Montaño sealed it four minutes later — his goal initially ruled out but upheld after a VAR review.
The win lifts Cruz Azul to 25 points atop the Clausura 2026 table, extending their unbeaten run since the opening weekend. For Atl. San Luis, it was another painful night in a difficult campaign.
