Uruguay U20 vs Paraguay U20

Uruguay U20 and Paraguay U20 played out a goalless draw at the Complejo Celeste, closing a two-match friendly series with a far tighter, more even contest than their first meeting two days earlier. Behind closed doors, both defenses held firm and neither goalkeeper was seriously tested across the 90 minutes. There was little else to report: no goals, no cards, and no real drama, a sharp contrast to the series opener, when an early own goal and a finish from Junio Gamarra had handed Paraguay U20 a 2-0 win. Coach Diego Forlán used this rematch to test fresh faces and different combinations in the Uruguayan lineup. Paraguay U20 therefore takes the series on aggregate, but Uruguay U20 leaves with a much better response and a clearer read on squad depth under its new coach. Both sides now shift focus to the South American Games in Santa Fe, Argentina, with these friendlies serving as final preparation.
