Match Preview

Friday's London Stadium meeting is a first: West Ham United and Wrexham have never met competitively, and now find themselves sharing a division. West Ham are back in the Championship for the first time since 2010-11 after relegation from the Premier League, while Wrexham are into a second straight second-tier season following their rise from non-league football. Neither side has found much early rhythm. West Ham's start has been stop-start — a draw, a loss and another draw — despite the marquee loan arrival of Joël Piroe, the division's reigning top scorer, from Leeds United, with Dele Alli also training with the squad in pursuit of a comeback. Wrexham sit mid-table after drawing their opening games, adjusting to life without departed talisman Paul Mullin, with Steven Fletcher and Sam Smith now leading their attack. With no head-to-head history to lean on, this early-season clash is a tough one to call. Our prediction: 2-1
